On August 26 2025, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) signed a contract (NO. EPA/E&E/CON/ICS/003/2025) with Champions for Nature Conservation Liberia (CNCL) for a Comprehensive feasibility study on the suitability and viability of establishing a botanical garden at the University of Liberia, Fendall campus, in Monrovia. The contract was funded by the United Nation Development Program (UNDP), with the University of Liberia as the Beneficiary and technical advisor for project implementation.

In Monrovia alone, plastic waste accounts for 14% of all waste, with over 1.3 million kilograms generated daily.Shockingly, 84% of this waste is not properly managed. Our wetlands—from Lake Piso to Mesurado—are choking under the weight of plastic debris. These ecosystems are not just beautiful; they are vital for flood control, water purification, and biodiversity

We implement projects on participatory development and implementation of land use plans in prioritised sites to enhance ecological sustainability as well promoting community Ecotourism.

The Program focus is to establish and build nature clubs, eco-schools establishment and guided nature tours/field trip to foster environmental stewardship among young people; training and capacity building for local conservationists and internship and volunteer initiatives aim at offering opportunities for students, researchers, and volunteers

Our community forest management project seek to support land use planning and customary land formalization for forest dependent communities. the priority is to support zoning that support conservation zone, sustainable low impact logging and multi-use zone for communities
